Private beta opens September 7

Drop in the document.
Get back a balanced entry.

Multi-entity, double-entry accounting for the multi-LLC real-estate operator — with an AI layer that does the data entry. Not a chatbot. You drop in a document; it comes back as a balanced journal entry, pre-coded, waiting for one click.

The grunt work is the AI's. The judgement is yours.

01
"Drop in the document. Get back a balanced entry."

The AI does data entry, not conversation. Every draft is a real double-entry transaction, balanced by construction before it is ever offered to you.

02
"Your AI has a spending limit."

Per-company arming, a per-transaction ceiling, a daily cap, and three categories of action that always need a human — armed or not.

03
"It will tell you when it doesn't know."

A missing value stays genuinely unknown all the way to the screen. The app will not fabricate a $0 and let you mistake it for a real balance.

The product

Every entity, one set of books.

Switch company at the top; everything below re-reads the ledger for that entity. Cash position, account balances, and what needs you today.

01 — The AI layer

One button, anywhere in the app.

Drop in an invoice, receipt, bank statement, lease, or settlement statement. No separate import wizard. A provider-agnostic pipeline reads the document, pulls the real fields — amounts, dates, parties, terms — and drafts a journal entry pre-tagged with entity, property and GL account.

Every draft lands in one review queue. The human is always the approver.

~147 specialist extractor and validator agents behind the pipeline, rather than one general model guessing at everything.
ROUTING Documents are routed to the right pipeline automatically. You never declare a type.
LEARNS Your habitual account choices feed back in, so drafts get closer to how you code things over time.
MODELS Anthropic, OpenAI, or a local Ollama install. Your data, your choice of provider.

FIG. 2 — AI REVIEW. EVERY DRAFT IN ONE QUEUE. ACCURACY READS “—” UNTIL IT IS MEASURED.
02 — Agentic autonomy

Autonomy you switch on, per entity, with a dollar limit.

This is the part most AI accounting tools get wrong. They hand you a model with write access and call the audit trail "the system." An agent in Ledgent cannot move the ledger alone. Every AI-initiated write is gated at a single chokepoint, and the default is staged — not posted.

ALL AGENT WRITES QUEUE FOR REVIEW
STAGED
FIG. 3 — AGENT ARMING. PER-COMPANY, AND IT FAILS SAFE.
Default is staged, not posted.

Until you arm a company, every agent write queues to the human review screen and the tool never fires. A missing setting counts as not-armed — it fails safe.

Three things always come back to a human.
01Anything over a cap.
02Anything that changes or erases money that already exists.
03Anything whose amount couldn't be read cleanly.

Armed or not. No exceptions, no override.

Approval replays with your identity on it.

When you approve a staged agent action, it re-runs through the same door stamped as your decision. The audit trail names a person, never "the system."

03 — Accounting integrity

The part your accountant will ask about.

Integrity here is not a convention the code politely observes. It is a constraint the database will refuse to violate.

Every entry in the system — human or AI — goes through the same single posting service. Nothing writes the ledger by a side door.
GUARANTEE
HOW IT'S ENFORCED
True double-entry
Debits must equal credits — enforced at the database, the posting service, and the audit log.
Integer cents, end to end
No floating-point money anywhere. Decimals exist only at display.
Immutable ledger
A posted entry is never edited or deleted. Corrections are reversing entries. "Void" means reversal, with the trail intact.
unknown ≠ zero
A missing value stays genuinely unknown all the way to the screen. The app will not fabricate a $0 and let you mistake it for a real balance.
Every financial mutation audited
Fail-closed, with the actor resolved server-side — the audit row can't be spoofed by the request.
No orphan data
Everything attaches to an entity. There is no floating record with nowhere to belong.
04 — Built for multi-LLC real estate

Entities are first-class, not tags.

General-purpose books make you fake multi-entity with classes, tags and a spreadsheet on the side. Every record in Ledgent belongs to a company, and the reports know it.

Intercompany transactions
With netting, and a reconciliation view that tells you plainly whether the books between two entities actually agree.
Tenants as customers
A lease upload matches or creates the tenant — which is what makes scheduled automatic rent invoicing possible.
Assets, depreciation, loans
Recorded depreciation runs and write-off handling. Loan payments split correctly, origination dates preserved.
Property lifecycle
AT LAUNCH
draft → commissioned → pending → verified → in service → disposed. An agent can fill any field; only a human moves a property between states.

07 · AUTONOMY
Per-company arming with ceilings

Once armed, agents post unattended within a per-transaction ceiling and a daily cap that you set. Unarmed is the default.

08 · AUTONOMY

An agent cannot move the ledger alone. Every AI-initiated write is gated at one place, and a missing setting fails safe.

09 · AUTONOMY
Approval carries your identity

A staged action re-runs stamped as your decision. The audit trail names a person, never "the system."

10 · INTEGRITY

Human or AI, every entry goes through the same service. Posted entries are never edited or deleted — corrections are reversals.

11 · INTEGRITY

No floating-point money anywhere. Debits must equal credits at the database, the posting service and the audit log.
